An e-scooty runs only as long as its battery. A pack that is too small means you charge twice a day, and a pack that is too weak loses power on hills and with a pillion. Here is how to choose between our two 60 V LiFePO4 e-scooty packs.
Why lithium for an e-scooty?
- Long life. PowerRun LiFePO4 packs are rated for 4000+ cycles, far more than a typical lead-acid set.
- Maintenance free. No water top-up, no acid, no corroded terminals.
- Lighter. A lithium pack is much lighter than a lead-acid pack of the same energy.
- Stable power. Voltage stays steadier through the ride, so the scooter feels stronger until the battery is nearly empty.
1. Check the voltage first
Both packs here are 60 V. Before you order, check the voltage printed on your scooter's current battery or charger. A 60 V scooter needs a 60 V pack, and a mismatched voltage can damage the controller.
2. Pick the capacity for your daily running
| 60 V 30 Ah | 1.8 kWh, 4000+ cycles, 3 years warranty |
| 60 V 45 Ah | 2.7 kWh, 4000+ cycles, 3 years warranty |
Choose 30 Ah if you ride around town, cover under 40 km a day, and can charge overnight. It is the lighter and more affordable option.
Choose 45 Ah if you ride longer routes, carry heavier loads, use the scooter for delivery, or want fewer charging stops. It gives 50% more energy, so the range is longer on every charge.
Energy in kWh is voltage times capacity: 60 V × 30 Ah = 1.8 kWh, and 60 V × 45 Ah = 2.7 kWh.
3. Use the right charger
A LiFePO4 pack needs a charger made for 60 V LiFePO4. A lead-acid charger uses a different charging profile and can shorten the life of the pack. Ask us which charger matches the pack you pick.
4. Check the discharge rate
Hills, acceleration and a pillion all draw more current. Our 30 Ah pack supports up to 30 A discharge, and the 45 Ah pack supports up to 45 A, so the bigger pack handles heavier demand more comfortably.
5. Look for protection
Every PowerRun e-scooty pack has an integrated BMS (battery management system) with charge balancing, which protects against overcharge, over-discharge and cell imbalance. Ask for the warranty terms with your order.
Quick answer
