Backup times use battery kWh × 0.8 usable × 0.9 inverter efficiency, at a steady 1 kW load (fans, lights, TV, fridge and a few appliances). Our backup time guide explains the formula, or use the battery calculator for your own load. Which gives the best value?
Compare batteries on price per kWh, not price per Ah: a 48 V 100 Ah and a 24 V 200 Ah both store 5.12 kWh. On that basis the 48 V packs generally work out cheaper - about ₹11,000 to ₹12,500 per kWh, against ₹12,300 to ₹15,400 per kWh for the 24 V packs. The best value in the range is the 48 V 600 Ah at about ₹11,084 per kWh, followed by the 48 V 280 Ah at about ₹11,196.
Is lithium worth it over lead-acid?
A tubular lead-acid battery is cheaper to buy, but you can safely use only about half its capacity, it needs water topping and it wears out after far fewer cycles. A LiFePO4 battery gives about 80% usable capacity, needs no maintenance, charges faster from solar and is rated for 6000+ cycles. How to choose the right lithium inverter battery
- Match the voltage to your inverter. A 24 V inverter needs a 25.6 V battery; a 48 V inverter needs a 51.2 V battery.
- Size it by your load and backup hours. Battery kWh needed = load (kW) × hours ÷ 0.72.
- Check the BMS and warranty. PowerRun packs have an integrated smart BMS and a 5-year warranty.
- Leave room for solar. With a hybrid inverter, a bigger battery stores more of the day's solar for the night.
Frequently asked questions
What is the price of a 200Ah lithium battery for an inverter?
The PowerRun 24 V 200 Ah (5.12 kWh) is ₹72,499 and the 48 V 200 Ah (10.24 kWh) is ₹1,22,499. Both are LiFePO4 with a 5-year warranty.
Can I use a lithium battery with my old home inverter?
Only if the inverter's charger supports a lithium (LiFePO4) charging profile at the right voltage. Send us your inverter model on WhatsApp and we will check it before you order.
